Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair in Sweden by GUISE
Swedish architectural firm GUISE designed this concept store for fashion brand Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair in Stockholm, Sweden. The brand itself works on the traditional typologies of clothes but deconstructs them to create entirely new garments. GUISE drew some inspiration from the brand’s design methods and designed a retail space based on deformed architectural typologies. The shelving is designed specifically to fit the changing needs of the shop, making it extremely flexible and functional. The overall shopping experience is enhanced by the custom-made furniture, cash register, fitting rooms, and doors. I personally love the shelving that mimics the appearance of a staircase. This is one of the examples of pieces constructed to be ambivalent

KT Listening Room
The KT listening room endeavors to create a personal audio experience in a private space. Inside the room is a circle of speakers that is focally oriented toward the listener’s sofa. This circle of speakers is formed by CNC-cut fiberboard panels and compressed polyester foam panels. The designers hoped to create a “spatial sensation that is in-between the notion of the concert hall and the iPod headphone.” The acoustic design of the room is based on principles of the soundproofing, reflectivity, rigidity and channeling of the reverberation. the KT listening room is designed by MAT Studio and Elastik.
